Louis "Lou" E. Rostand, 80, of Delmont, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 10, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his wife (Mary Lou) and his family. He was born February 16, 1943, in New York, NY, the son of the late John and Celia (Bieda) Rostand.
A graduate of Brooklyn Polytechnic University in engineering, his education also included a master's degree from Caltech and additional education from MIT. His working career in engineering spanned 48 years, starting with Westinghouse and concluding with Bettis Laboratory in Pittsburgh. He was an active member of the Mother of Sorrows parish in Murrysville, namely in the local Knight of Columbus council, where he led initiatives on Faithful Citizenship that were impactful at the local level and acknowledged by the Supreme Council.
He is best remembered as a man of faith, a loving and devoted husband, a dedicated father to his three sons, a loving grandfather, and a friend to those he encountered.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Lou (Aranowski) Rostand; his brother, John Rostand; his three sons, Jeffrey (Tina) Rostand, Paul (Courtney) Rostand, Christopher (Rebecca) Rostand; six grandchildren, Lauren, Keira, Leo, Callum, Cecelia, and Hannah.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. with The Knights of Columbus leading a recitation of the Rosary at 2pm. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Hart Funeral Home, Inc. Parting prayers will be at 9:15 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2023, at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Mother of Sorrows Church.
