Marian Jean Weihe, 93, of Murrysville, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022, at Brookdale Senior Living of Murrysville. She was born September 13, 1928, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late William and Lillian Bergfelt Helm Jr. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Weihe Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Wilfred Hlivko.
Marian was the President of the Murrysville Garden Club and was involved with the American Association of University Women, Murrysville Swim Club and Murrysville Women’s Club. She was a member of Pymatuning Yacht Club for over 50 years and enjoyed spending time at her vacation home in Avon, NC. Marian was the organist and choir director for Emmanuel Lutheran Church for more than 40 years. As a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Music, she was a gifted musician and music was a source of joy and expression for her. Her other passion was gardening and she was a Master Gardener and judge. You could find her in her garden spring through fall, morning to dusk, creating beauty in whatever she touched.
Marian is survived by her children, David and Wendy Weihe; a sister-in-law, Greta Hlivko; a niece, Beth (Rob) Kirol, and a nephew, John (Marilyn) Hlivko. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville. A Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Murrysville. Please go directly to church.
