Marie Ann Certo, 93, of Murrysville, went to be with our Lord, on January 31, 2023. She was born In Bradford Woods, PA, daughter of the late Francis and Marie Esser Casey. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Fredrick Certo, four brothers, Francis, Richard, Donald, and Charles Casey.
Prior to being a loving wife and a mother, early in her work life she was an office manager at an architectural engineering firm. Later in her life she was a buyer’s assistant to a purchasing agent in the children’s fashion clothing industry for Carters and others. Marie was devoted to God and her faith. She served her church by volunteering and was a Christian Mother with Mother of Sorrows Parish. She was active in philanthropy and politics. She worked to advance conservative values and for a greater respect for human life.
Marie is survived by the love of her life, her devoted husband of 66 years Angelo L. Certo; four children, Jeffery Certo, Jeannette (Craig) Pavlick, William Certo, David (Jennifer) Certo; eight grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; three sisters, Kathy Dingman, Eileen Mooney, and Peggy Doyle.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville. Parting Prayers will be 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, followed by 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at Mother of Sorrows Parish.
