Mary L. (Lelekacs) Moorhead

Mary (Maria Lelekacs) Moorhead, 98, of Delmont, was called home by the Lord on Sunday, August 21, 2022. She was born September 21, 1923, in Coraopolis, daughter of the late John and Maria (Labik) Lelekacs. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William R. “Bill” Moorhead, brothers, Michael, George, John and a sister, Mila Tkocs.

She was employed by the government in Westinghouse on the Rationing Board during World War II and later in Kaufman’s accounting department. After 25 years of service as secretary, administrative assistant, she retired from Franklin Regional School District to enjoy her grandchildren, her love of sewing customized fashions, gardening, traveling, and golfing. She was proud of being honored by Murrysville-Export Rotary as a Rotarian. Mary was also proud of her Carpath-Rus heritage, traditions, Byzantine Catholic faith, and fluent in The Cyrillic language, reading and writing.

Devoted mother of Barbara (Dennis) Gallucci, of Delmont; and her late son, Rick (Wendy) Moorhead, of Mentor, Ohio. She is survived by grandchildren, Denise (Britt) Freund, of Coraopolis, Anthony (Sharyn) Gallucci, of Bellefonte, PA, Dana (Kyle) Petersen, of Charden, OH, and Dan (Mia) Moorhead, of Mentor, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Shay Freund, Angelo Gallucci, Brayden Fruend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at https://donate3.cancer.org or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at www.cff.org Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville. Divine Liturgy will be 11 a.m. Monday at The Church of the Resurrection in Monroeville. Entombment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, PA.
