Mary Jane (Kavel) Van Voorhis

Mary Jane Van Voorhis, of Leesburg, VA, formerly of Murrysville, PA, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023. She was born September 15, 1930, in Herminie, PA, daughter of the late Samuel and Steffie (Sukanovich) Kavel. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Sam Kavel Jr. 

Mary Jane will be dearly missed by her husband of over 57 years, Ronald Van Voorhis; two sons, Lee Van Voorhis (and his wife, Cynthia Brown) and Gregg Van Voorhis (and his wife Jodi Van Voorhis); and four grandchildren, Colton, Alexa, Aidan and Keira. 

Above all else, Mary Jane loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.  She loved attending all of their soccer, football, and lacrosse games, and spending special time with them during the holidays.  For many years, she and Ron enjoyed playing golf with their multiple friends, and in later years, cruising to exotic locations.
