Matthew J. Dorn, 96, of Murrysville, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at his home. He was born January 20, 1927, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Harry and Mary C. (Scanlon) Dorn. Matthew was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. After serving in the army, he graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology and worked as a civil engineer until retirement. Matthew loved to play golf, was a Lions Club member, a bridge player and a square dancer for many years. He was an active member of Mother of Sorrows Church and loved spending time with family and friends. Matthew is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary A. (Buzzard) Dorn; six children, Jeanne (Jim) McManic, Patricia "Patti" (Rick) Perrott, Margaret "Peggy" Dorn, Virginia "Ginger" Dorn, Matthew "Matt" (Cindy) Dorn, and Catherine "Cathy" (Mark) Speranza; eight grandchildren, Sarah McManic, David McManic, Ann (Torrin) Cavanaugh, Katie (Chris) Williams, Geoffrey (Kristen) Perrott, Jacob Dorn, Jessica Dorn and Nina Speranza; and four great grandchildren, Carter Williams, Hannah Williams, Bennett Perrott and Zachary Perrott. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Mother of Sorrows Outreach ministry. Please feel free to visit with the family from 9 a.m. until the Memorial Mass begins at 10 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2023, at Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville with a reception following.
