Michael James Peretto

Michael James Peretto, 84, of Murrysville, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at UPMC East. He was born February 20, 1940, in Latrobe, son of the late James and Inez (Lovera) Peretto. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Matthew Brian, and his sister, Annetta Lawry.
Mike was a lieutenant in the Navy and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was also a graduate of Saint Vincent College.
He was fortunate to be able to spend time doing the things that he loved. Mike and Cindy had a farm in TN where they got to ride their TN Walkers and follow their bird dogs. He field trialed for over 40 years and he served as President of the AFTCA.
Mike always had a love of golf and was quite accomplished at it. In his “retirement” years he became a Master Club Fitter and traveled to many prestigious courses throughout the south offering his expertise at club fitting and club repair before opening a golf shop at Scally’s Driving Range and offering his services there.
Mike is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cynthia (Hartzell) Peretto; his daughter, Amy Brian; a granddaughter, Katie Brian; a niece and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Tee Pittsburgh. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2024, at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville.  A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
