Miriam Ruth Humbert, age 93, of Penn Hills passed away on September 24, 2022. Born October 5, 1928 in Struthers, Ohio, she was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Guy Hoffman and Jean Elizabeth (Avery) and her husband, William R. Humbert. Miriam loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart. Her favorite hymn was “Amazing Grace”. The Lord gifted her with a beautiful singing voice and amazing skill playing the piano and organ. She was a long-time pianist for Grace Baptist Church of Monroeville. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting, as well as cooking and baking. As a loving caregiver, she cared for her handicapped son of 16 years and her husband with Alzheimer’s disease. She enjoyed traveling but cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was always ready to serve a delicious meal. In many ways, she touched people’s lives but her greatest desire was that all would come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude L. Sullivan, her brother, Alvan J. Hoffman, her son, William A. Humbert and her son-in-law, Michael G. Dailey. Miriam is survived by her twin sister, Marilyn J. Gettens; her three children, Richard W. Humbert (Kathy), Robert J. Humbert (Joy) and Marilou Dailey; grandchildren, Justin Humbert (Rose), Chad Humbert (Emily), Rob Humbert (Laura), Jenna Painter (Jordan), Amy Askeland (Michael) and step-grandchild, Carrie Weaver (Bruce); and 14 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 5-8 pm. Additional visitation will be held at Grace Baptist Church, Monroeville on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11 am. A luncheon will be held directly after the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org.
