Nancy Jane (Fritz) Meyers, 81, of Penn Township, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, at Independence Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg. She was born on January 9, 1944, in Gray, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Melvin and Emma (Patrick) Fritz. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Verle Fritz and Barry Fritz; her sister, Lois Fritz Bush; mother-in-law, Mary Lou Meyers; and her first husband, Elwood Sarver.
Nancy made her home in many places, living in Ohio, Mississippi, and finally settling in Penn Township. She was a school bus driver and loved her job, being known as the “best school bus driver” until her retirement. She had a very fulfilling life, and was involved in 4-H, training harness racing horses, and even had her pilot’s license. She loved her Bichons, fishing, and the Pittsburgh sports teams. Nancy was always known for being funny and having a good time. She will be missed by many.
Nancy was a woman of deep faith and was a founding member of Cornerstone Ministries in Murrysville. She loved the Lord and liked to read at least two books a week, especially her Bible.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Gene L. Meyers Jr.; her four sons, Kenneth Sarver, Kevin (Kimberly) Sarver, Keith (Tamera) Sarver, and Karl (Stella) Sarver; her ten grandchildren, Renee, Nate, Karly, Karina, Karl Jr., Kali Anne, Lyndsey, Kassie, Kaylee, and Konner; her seven great-grandchildren, Noah, Baily, Molly, Gemma, Londyn, Kru, and Kaden; and her two great-great grandchildren, Oakley and Tatum. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Julie (Rob) Smith and Judy Fritz, her brother-in-law Bob Bush, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation for Nancy will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home Inc., in Murrysville. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Ministries in Murrysville (everyone please meet at the church), followed by interment in Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont.
