Nancy J. (Ciesielski) Straw

Nancy J. Straw, 91, of Murrysville, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Forbes Regional Hospital. She was born April 5, 1932, in Braddock, PA, daughter of the late Mary (Farkas) Ciesielski. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Straw; and a grandson, Matthew Straw. 

Widowed at a young age, Nancy raised four children, ages 1 through 12 on her own.  Her children will be eternally grateful to her for the many sacrifices she made to provide for them and give them a better life. She was always there for them and although she had little she gave so much. In retirement she loved flower gardening, her fish pond, and feeding the birds.  She always enjoyed watching all of the wildlife that came into the yard. She also cherished her trips to Alaska to see her son and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren.  

Nancy is survived by four children, Joseph, Robert, David, and Nancy Jean; four grandchildren, Michael, Christina, Brendan, Emer; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Taylor, Robert, and Natalie.
