Norman Altman
June 17, 1927 ~ October 8, 2021 (age 94) 94 Years OldNorman Altman, 94, of Murrysville, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021. He was born June 17, 1927, in New York, NY, son of the late Daniel and Sylvia Eisinger Altman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Joan Cart; and two sons, Michael and David Altman. A graduate of the US Naval Academy, he served in a variety of sea and shore stations during World War II and Korea. He served as a volunteer for the food services at the Jewish Community Center in Squirrel Hill. He was former President of the Murrysville – Export Rotary Club and was a member of Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville. Prior to retirement, he was the VP of marketing sales 1965–1981, at Robicon Corporation, now a Siemens affiliate. Norm is survived by two sons, Peter (Beth) Altman and James (Carol) Altman; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Luke, Ashley, Jonathan, Jennifer, Eric, and Dana; and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 2 to 4 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 4 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville. Interment will be private at Beaufort National Cemetery, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Mother of Sorrows School or to a charity of one’s choice.
