Paul Harlan “Cooky” Bramson, D.V.M., 80, of Murrysville, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022, at his home. He was born December 29, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Oscar and Gertrude May Bramson. 
Paul retired from the University of Pittsburgh after close to thirty years of service in various roles. Prior to his retirement, he resided as the longest presiding President of the Three Rivers Branch of A.A.L.A.S. Paul attended Colorado State University and the University of Illinois where he got his Veterinary Degree as well as his Masters in Biology and Reproductive Physiology. After moving to Pennsylvania in 1978, he worked at the Bushy Run Laboratory of Carnegie Mellon University for a few years before being employed by the University of Pittsburgh. During his tenure at Pitt, Paul was involved with the procurement of the baboons for Dr. Thomas Starzl's groundbreaking liver transplant surgeries as well as the design of the animal housing within Pitt's Bio Science Tower.  In addition to spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who he deeply loved, he enjoyed golfing, fishing with his brother in law, Jim Trout, and volunteering alongside his wife at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium.

Paul is survived by his wife of 42 years, Toni Sue (Trout) Bramson; his children, David (Kristen) Bramson and Heidi (Russ) Winslow; his grandchildren, Emily, Lucas, Ryan (Jessie) and Cody; two brothers, Robert (Ruth) Bramson, Philip (Kay) Bramson; a sister, Ginger (Jimi) Bramson and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville. A Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the donors choice of Pittsburgh Zoo Docent Program, or to the Murrysville Emergency Shelter Team, c/o Municipality of Murrysville, 4100 Sardis Road, Murrysville, PA 15668 .www.hartfuneralhomeinc.com
