Philip T. Brennan

Philip T. Brennan, 93, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully Friday, March 18, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.  Phil was a devoted husband to his wife Theo of over six decades of marriage.  A proud father of two daughters, Diane and Debbie. A beloved grandfather and great-grandfather to his granddaughters and grandsons.  A brother and a friend who was protective, generous, compassionate and kind.  He was born August 21, 1928, in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late William R. and Mary A. O’Keefe Brennan.  Phil graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1947.  In addition to his parents, a brother, William R. Brennan, Jr., preceded him in death. 

Phil enjoyed spending his winters in Fort Lauderdale, FL for 33 years.  He traveled to various destinations during his life and lived each moment to the fullest.  He welcomed each season and holiday with festivities, decorations and celebration with family and friends.  One of his greatest enjoyments were the loyal friendships he fostered, these relationships were precious and valuable to him.  His most noble attribute was his selflessness and generosity to others.  As an avid golfer, he was a member of the Alcoma Golf Club for 34 years.  Phil was an early entrepreneur, owned, and operated various businesses including The Wooden Nickel in Monroeville for 24 years.  Phil was self-made in business and in life through his independence, ingenuity and resilience.

Phil is survived by his loving wife of over 68 years, Theo B. Mort Brennan; two daughters, Diane (Nick) Nuzzo and Debbie (Tony) Nuzzo; five grandchildren, Brittany (Chad) Nuzzo-Callen, Brooke (Shane) Kampian, Tyler (Brandon) Borchin, Erika (Andrew) Kung, and Nick (Julia) Nuzzo; a brother, Joseph Brennan; and a sister, Mary (Sam) Dinapoli and numerous nieces and nephews. 

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s at www.stjude.org.  A private memorial service will be Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville at 10:30 a.m.  Interment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, PA.
