Regis A. Giles

Regis A. Giles, 77, of Murrysville died Wednesday, May 3, 2017.  He was born April 16, 1940 in McKeesport, son of the late Robert L. and Loreda F. Strom Giles.  In addition to his parents, Regis was preceded in death by a brother, Timmy Giles.  Regis had a 46 year association with Gateway School District as a Science teacher, Biology teacher, Jr. high school basketball coach and 16 year high school baseball coach.  He was also a college and high school basketball referee.  Regis served as the WPIAL basketball rules interpreter for many years.  In 2008, Regis was inducted into the Gateway Hall of Fame.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Marlene Giles of Murrysville; two sons, Jeffrey Giles and his wife, Angela of Murrysville and Robert Giles and his wife, Jennifer of Greensburg.  He is also survived by four grandchildren; Jeffrey, Tyler, Courtney and Ashley Giles.  Visitation Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 1 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 9 p.m. at the Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday with Reverend Chris Livermore officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.   www.hartfuneralhomeinc.com
