Richard A. Baird

Richard A. Baird, 93, formerly of Penn Twp and Penn Hills, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Harmony at Harts Run, Glenshaw, Pa. He was born July 8, 1930, son of the late Enoch and Lillian (Heininger) Baird. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three siblings, Robert (Virginia) Baird, Jean (Charles) Morris, and James (Doris) Baird.

He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard and was a member of St. Barbara Church in Harrison City. Prior to retirement, he was a Sales Engineer for Westinghouse. Richard was an Eagle Scout, Boy Scout leader, photographer, traveler, golfer, and loved spending time with his family. He had a lifelong passion for the Pittsburgh Pirates.  

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Jean (Sullivan) Baird; five children, Timothy (Selina Littler) Baird, Stephen (Judy) Baird, Daniel (Barbara) Baird, Jeffrey (Debra) Baird, Eric (Mary) Baird; seven grandchildren, Michael Baird, Kevin (Amanda) Baird, Matthew Baird, Tyler (Paige) Baird, Keith Baird, Nicolas Baird, and Zac (Julia) Baird; two great-grandsons, Anthony and Levi.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Autism Pittsburgh. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville. A Funeral Mass will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at St. Ursula Church – Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, 3937 Kirk Avenue, Allison Park, PA 15101. Please meet directly at church.
