Richard I. Mort, 89, of Trafford, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022, at Juniper Village, Monroeville. He was born May 18, 1933, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Charles and Ketura Miller Mort. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Marlene DePastino Mort.
He worked for many years as a Supervisor for Westinghouse Electric Company and also enjoyed pouring concrete for over 50 years. He was skilled at archery and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and reading. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Most of all he dearly loved his wife and his family.
Rich will be missed by his four children, Diane (Ronald) Wilson, Darlene (Greg) Daverio, Laura (Brian) Saunders, and Jim (Lauren) Mort; nine grandchildren, Andrew Wilson, Michael (Zeynep) Daverio, Laura (Rocco) Pietropola, Chris Saunders, Rachel (Scott) Sieber, Brianne Bailey, Allison Bailey, Keturah Mort, and Luke Mort; two great-grandchildren, Hudson and Rocco, and siblings Theo, Betty (Rick), and Bobby (Sue).
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc. at which time, a funeral service will take place. Interment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. www.hartfuneralhomeinc.com
