Robert " Bob " Allen

Robert Gerard Allen, 69, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Monday, July 18th, 2022.  

Born in Hampton, Pennsylvania, Robert was the son of the late Bruce and Dorothy Allen and brother of the late Bruce Allen.   He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn, of 43 years, son, Jonathan, his daughter-in-law, Liza, grandsons, Parker and Max, and sister-in-law, Lucy.  Robert was happiest when he was with his family and friends.   Lovingly referred to as Uncle Bear, he was a proud and involved uncle to Becky, Bruce, Jeff, and Julie and great uncle to Wyatt, Katie, Tyler, Lucas, Andrew, and Julia.  

A passionate outdoorsman, Robert spent much of his life hunting and fishing and had a particular fondness for North East, PA where he spent summers at Dohler’s Cottages for over 60 years.  Robert was a proud native of Pittsburgh and lifelong supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers, having attended the University of Pittsburgh for college.   He spent much of his professional life in the insurance industry with Mutual Inspection Bureau, of Harrisburg, and made many close friends in the industry.    Robert was also actively involved in the Freemasons where he was a Master of the Forbes Trail Lodge and active member of the Infinity Lodge. 

Family and friends will be received for visitation from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Thursday, July 21st at Hart Funeral Home in Murrysville, PA.  A funeral will be held at 11am Friday, July 22nd, at the First United Methodist Church in Murrysville.    Please meet directly at the church on Friday.
