Robert L. Hazlett was a man of few words, so in his honor, this will be succinct, but mighty, just as he was. A husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many, he died Friday, August 20, 2021 at his home. He was 69. Born August 16, 1952 in Punxsutawney, PA, he lived nearly his entire adult life in Murrysville where he and Nedra, his wife of 48 years, raised their kids Courtney, Chad and Evan. Besides spending time with his family, and later grandchildren Zac, Sawyer, Tate and Ronin, some of the things he most loved included: a perfectly manicured lawn, an icy gin and tonic, getting Christmas lights hung before Thanksgiving, and declining a golf invitation. Wherever he is now, you can be assured there is no golf. His parents were LeRoy and Margaret Hazlett and Sarah Hartzfeld. He’s survived and remembered with so much love by: his wife Nedra Tedesco; three children, Courtney (Steven Marrs) Hazlett, Chad (Patricia Tan) Hazlett and Evan Hazlett; his four aforementioned grandchildren, nieces Claire Tedesco and Hope Schalck and their children. He is also survived by six siblings: Melinda Fairman, Sheilah, Brian, Ronald, Howard and William Hartzfeld. Vaccinated friends are welcome to visit with family between 10 to 11am and attend the 11 AM memorial service at Oakmont Presbyterian Church. (If you aren’t vaccinated and you’ve read this far, you were a friend of Rob’s and he’d really want you to re-think that). If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Oakmont Presbyterian Church or to Food for Health, Plant-Based Pittsburgh, but really he’d be just as happy if you remembered him by playing Pavarotti, enjoying the smell of freshly laid mulch, and loving your family, just as he did. www.hartfuneralhomeinc.com
