Robert Leonard Moreau, of Murrysville, PA, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on April 14, 2026. Bob was born in Indiana, PA on August 15, 1934, to Albert and Denela (Doubles) Moreau. He was preceded in death in 2018 by his loving wife Dorothy of more than 60 years, his daughter Joanna, his brother Bernard Moreau and brothers-in-law Bob Radcliffe, Dwayne Renwick and Stephan Mizerak and sister-in-law Bernadine Brisky. He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Moreau and Maria Daniels (Glenn) and a son Michael Moreau (Joan), two grandchildren, Anthony and Nicholas Daniels, his brother William Moreau (Mary Kay), sisters Bonnie Radcliffe and Cathy Renwick and sisters-in-law Bonnie Moreau and Rita (Ron) Kull. Bob will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and family friends.
In 1953, Bob proudly joined and served in the U.S. Navy where he worked as a corpsman at the Philadelphia VA hospital. It was at the end of his service in 1957 that he married Dorothy Louise Mizerak, and their journey of more than 60 years together began. Upon discharge he enrolled at the Art Institute in Pittsburgh for the training that would shape his career.
Our Dad will always be remembered for his passion for creative pursuits, both in his career and personal life, in the arts, woodworking and building and his enthusiasm to teach and share his knowledge. Professionally, he was the hard-working owner of several successful graphic design and art production services. In his personal life he was the creator of the many oil paintings that adorned his home. As a craftsman, his knowledge of woodworking and building crafted the home we grew up in as well as the many bookcases, stonework and a vast array of furniture and woodworking projects that came out of his backyard wood shop through the years.
Dad will be remembered for his heartwarming holiday blessings and toasts at large Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations at his home with family and friends. And, nobody who ever attended a wedding with Dad will ever forget him showing off his jitterbug skills on the dance floor with Mom. He was a man of strong Catholic faith and was actively involved in his local parish as an usher for many decades.
A glass of wine and a story to tell. Dad took great joy in sharing a bottle of wine with friends and family at gatherings and picnics at his home. He would proudly share stories about his family, his journey in business and the many friends he met along the way, family vacations, growing up in his beloved Indiana, PA and exploits with friends and family during his entire life’s journey. In his downtime Dad could be found relaxing in the living room with a glass of wine and expanding his knowledge of history through books from his favorite author David McCullough.
We were blessed to have this man in our lives as our Father and role model. He will truly be missed.
