Ronald W. Frost

Ronald W. Frost, 90, of Murrysville, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Forbes Hospital. He was born January 24, 1934, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, son of the late Lewis and Gladys (Mitchell) Frost. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis and Arthur Frost and a sister-in-law, Faye Pfrenzinger McGough.

He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and an M.S. in Structural Engineering from the University of Michigan the following year. After working several years at an engineering firm in Boston Massachusetts, he spent most of his remaining career at U.S. Steel Research Laboratory in Monroeville. Ronald helped to redesign and rebuild the Staymates Barn and drove for Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed spending time with his wife sailing on Lake Erie and more recently bicycling together.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy (Robbins) Frost; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou and Marilyn Frost; and a brother-in-law, William Robbins and his wife, Deborah. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including his Godchild and special caregiver, Dawn Hogan.
