Ruth Eileen O’D Jones Blanner, 92 of Murrysville, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023. She was born December 18, 1930 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late John J. and Regina Fahey O’Donnell. In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Jones in 1973; her second husband, John “Jack” R. Blanner in 2021; a daughter, Sharon Ann Jones in 2022; and a brother, Jack O’Donnell. Eileen was a member of Mother of Sorrows Parish for many years. She was a registered nurse and volunteered with “Rescue #4” known now as Murrysville Medic One. She enjoyed knitting with her friends in the “Knit Wits” group. She also enjoyed sailing and skiing with her family. She is survived by her three sons, Robert A. (Roberta) Jones, James Jones, and Richard Jones, all of Murrysville; a granddaughter, Hannah Jones; two sisters, Jeanne McFadden, and Kathleen Watson. Eileen is also survived by four stepchildren, James (Debra) Blanner, Janet (Ron) Merkle, Jean Farmer and Jeff (Vicki) Blanner. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday, November 10, 2023 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home Inc, Murrysville. Parting prayers will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at Mother of Sorrows Parish, Murrysville. Interment will be private with her family in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
