William J. Lane, 61 of Murrysville passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 22, 2022. He was born September 5, 1961 in Pittsburgh, son of the late John J. and Dolores K. McCann Lane and earned his degree from Penn State.
Bill owned and operated Lane’s Hardware stores for many years. He was a valued member in the community and was always willing to help others. Bill was known for his postive attitude and his enthusiasm for life. He was an active member of St. Barbara, Harrison City, participating and cooking for the Church Festival, Fish Fry, and Thanksgiving Outreach. Bill was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed skiing, biking and exploring with his friends and family. He truly lived life to the fullest and had an uncanny ability to reach people in a postive way. He was a devoted father and his greatest joys in life were his two sons whom he was always so proud of.
He is survived by two sons, William J. Jr. (Janelle) Lane of Costa Mesa, CA and Sean M. Lane of Harrison City; long-term partner, Kelly Rupprecht; and former wife, Judy Lane. He is also survived by three brothers, John, Steve, and Donald Lane. Bill will be greatly missed for his love and generosity by all those around him.
Visitation Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville. Parting Prayers will be held in the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. on Friday with a Funeral Mass at St Barbara Church, Harrison City at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Barbara Fish Fry 111 Raymaley Rd, Harrison City, Pa 15636 in Bill’s name.
