David L. Colborn

David Lee Colborn, of Export, passed away on May 8, 2022.  He was the son of the late Mary E. (Meluch) and Harry W. Colborn.  He is survived by his brother Kurt Colborn (Dr. Marvin McGowan) of Pittsburgh, Uncle Bill Meluch (Joan), many cousins, and friends.  David was a 1972 graduate of Hempfield Area High School, where he enjoyed the debate team and working on special effects for the school play U.T.B.U.  He went on to graduate from Penn State University’s main campus with dual degrees in Political Science and Journalism.  David’s longest employment was in the PA State Store system.  He was especially devoted to his mother, and his companionship allowed her to stay in her home long after she would not have been able to do so alone.  He had a dry sense of humor, liked the intrigue of mystery novels, and enjoyed giving people silly gifts.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville.
