Leonard Anthony Scimio
April 22, 1930 ~ September 29, 2021 (age 91) 91 Years OldLeonard Anthony Scimio, 91, of Murrysville, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, at Redstone Highlands Senior Living Community. He was born April 22, 1930, in Leetsdale, Pa., beloved son of the late Quirno and Mary Spagnolo Scimio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Elizabeth Blazier Scimio. Prior to retirement, Leonard was a schoolteacher for the Deer Lakes School District in Russelton, Pa., for more than 25 years. He was a veteran of the Army, having served during the Korean War. He was also very active in his local Lions Club and an attendee of Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church. Leonard is survived by his wife, Sharon Sharp Scimio; four sons, David (Susan) Scimio, Mark (Lori) Scimio, Steve Scimio and Leonard A. "Buzzy" (Rhonda Zalus) Scimio II; seven grandchildren, Kylie (John) Pilackas, Courtney Scimio, Tyler Scimio, Nathan Scimio, Rebecca Scimio, Michael Zalus and Abby Zalus; and a great-grandchild, Paxton Pilackas. Visitation is from 3 until 6 p.m. Saturday at HART FUNERAL HOME INC., Murrysville, at which time a funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Interment will be private at Lakewood Memorial Park, Cheswick, Pa.
