William "Bill" E. Gunson died Wednesday, September 15, 2021 peacefully at The Willows, Oakmont, PA.  Bill was born in Hinson, Florida on December 12, 1928, son of the late Ira Lawrence Gunson and Susie Gunson (nee Sneed).  Bill is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 59 years, Jean MacPhaul Gunson, brothers Ira Lawrence Gunson Jr., Robert Allen Gunson, David Oliver Gunson, and sisters Mildred Gunson Perry and Lois Palmer Gunson.

 Bill is survived by nephews Sam Perry (Brickey), Richard Perry (Shirley), Charles MacPhaul (Pam)and David MacPhaul (Vicki) and nieces Janci Gunson Hurt and Martha Baker Vasquez (Juan Douglas). Bill is also survived by several great nephews and nieces and great great nephews and nieces.  The family expresses their gratitude to Bill's neighbor and friend, Myra Mamo,  for all the help, assistance and comfort she provided to Bill during these past few years.

Bill was a graduate of University of Florida in 1949 and a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with a Masters in Engineering in 1952.  Bill began his engineering career in Missouri, working overseas in London and then settling down in Murrysville as a nuclear engineer for Westinghouse. After Westinghouse dissolved its nuclear division, Bill was a successful consultant in the nuclear power industry.

Visitation hours on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Hart Funeral Home Inc.7 PM- 8:30 PM with his funeral at St. Albans Anglican church on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 1:00 PM.

 Bill was a member of St. Albans Anglican Church and various professional associations.
