William A. “Bill” Montgomery Jr., 59, of New Kensington, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 22, 2022. He was born December 2, 1962, in Valparaiso, IN, son of Mary Maureen Doenges Smith and the late William A. Montgomery Sr.
Bill grew a successful contracting business and together with long time co-worker Bill Pyle built, repaired and remodeled many homes in Plum, Murrysville and surrounding areas over the past 40 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and training his succession of Black Labs: Bear, Storm, Sammy, Remi and Willow. He loved his dogs with all his heart.
Bill had an eye for classic cars and enjoyed working on them and attending car shows with his longtime friend Jim Jenkins.
He was a loving father who participated actively in his children’s activities from early years on the soccer or softball field, to fishing, wrestling, archery and shooting sports. He has had some amazing adventures with his family and many friends.
Bill was always ready to lend a hand to his friends, family and neighbors if they needed anything.
In addition to his mother and her husband Chuck, Bill will be dearly missed by his wife of 31 years, Laurie (Flaa) Montgomery; two children, Zack and Michelle Montgomery; two brothers, James and Robert Montgomery; and a sister, Bonnie (Jeff) Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville. Everyone is welcome to join the family at 7 p.m. to share memories in celebration of Bill’s life.
